This painting marked a shift for me. I didn’t know it at the time, but something settled into place while I was working.
The surface opened up. The color thinned and spread, and the flowers began to hold their own space without being pushed.
It felt less like arranging and more like letting something through.
I stayed with it longer than usual, paying attention to what lingered.
