Dawn Awakening

This painting marks a beginning. I remember the light changing slowly, the sky opening before anything else moved.

The colors gathered in layers as the hill stayed dark and solid, holding its shape. Below it, small points of light appeared, scattered and steady, like flowers holding dawn’s early light.

Everything was shifting, so very slowly, and still there was the sense that something new was beginning.
